Sumario
El “ancla de la esperanza”, última ancla y la más pesada, sólo usada en un navío cuando las anteriores han fallado, es una inmejorable imagen del concepto y la transcendencia de la esperanza cristiana. Para todos los hombres, de cualquier raza y época, la esperanza se ha constituido como imprescindible para impulsarle y marcarle un futuro al que dirigirse. Pero para el cristiano es más que importante. Es como el ancla, es capaz de afirmarle y mantenerle a pesar de las tempestades y el azote de las olas de la vida. Ésta, obra maestra del mejor Artesano (el divino), es digna de ser admirada y predicada hasta la saciedad. La mala prensa, el descuido y olvido que ha sufrido, no han podido callar el fuerte el mensaje que sigue queriendo transmitir hoy al hombre: hay un porvenir que no podrá ser arrebatado. Este trabajo realizará un estudio sobre dicha esperanza, la bíblica y escatológica, que de antemano se presenta como fundamento de la fe cristiana. Pero no se planteará como un mero sumario de información, por cuanto la información no siempre transforma. Sino que, junto con el estudio del hábito de la contemplación, se invitará al lector a que emprenda un viaje a lo más profundo de la esperanza, para ver si logra ver un poco más nítidamente los misterios que en ella se ocultan. El objetivo final será, por tanto, la transformación del lector para que, al igual que el autor del trabajo que escribe estas líneas, pueda llorar de gozo al adquirir una mayor revelación de las maravillas que le son aguardadas en la eternidad y que ya hoy puede disfrutar parcialmente como anticipo. Trasformación que lleve a volver a predicar y enseñar con convicción y con fuerza acerca de tan valiosa virtud teologal.
Abstract
The “Sheet Anchor” or the “anchor of the hope”, the heaviest and the last anchor in a ship that is used when the others have failed, is an excellent image of the concept and significance of the Christian hope. For every human of every race and age, hope has been essential and has driven and marked the future for mankind. But for the Christian, is supremely important. It’s like that anchor, able to affirm and hold them through the storms and the violent waves of life. This is the masterpiece of the supreme craftsman (the Divine craftsman), worth to be respected and communicated endlessly.
Bad press, neglect and the collective forgetfulness that this hope has suffered, cannot silence the powerful message that continues to be transmitted to mankind nowadays: there is a future that cannot be taken away. This paper will study this hope, both in the biblical and scatological sense which from ancient times is presented as essential for the Christian faith. But, it will not be expounded as a mere aggregation of information because information doesn’t always transform the receptor. But, together with the study of the habit of contemplation, it will encourage the reader to begin a journey into the deepest parts of hope in order to better see the mysteries hidden therein. Therefore, the ultimate purpose will be the transformation of the readers, a transformation that the author of this study has experienced, so that they might cry for joy while receiving a deeper revelation of the beauty reserved for us in eternity and, which can partially be enjoyed beforehand. Such transformation will lead us to preach and teach with conviction and strength about this valuable theological truth.
